Disclosure
PupWiki may earn money from display ads, affiliate links, partner offers, sponsored placements, or referral links. This helps keep PupWiki free to use.
How PupWiki makes money
- Display advertising — Ads may appear on breed profiles, guides, and tool pages. These are served by third-party ad networks.
- Affiliate links — When you click a product or service link labelled "Affiliate link" or "Partner offer" and make a purchase, PupWiki may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
- Partner offers — PupWiki may feature partner product promotions on the Partner Offers page and selected breed cost pages. These are clearly labelled.
- Referral links — Some links to third-party services may include referral tracking that credits PupWiki if you sign up.
Editorial independence
These commercial relationships do not determine our breed scores, tool outputs, editorial verdicts, source selection, or whether we cover a topic. Affiliate relationships, display ads, and partner offers do not influence PupWiki breed assessments, tool calculations, or content recommendations.
We would cover, score, and recommend the same breeds and produce the same tool outputs regardless of whether any affiliate relationship exists.
How commercial placements are labelled
Commercial placements use one of these labels:
- Affiliate link — A link that may earn PupWiki a commission if you purchase.
- Partner offer — A featured promotion from a commercial partner.
- Sponsored — Paid placement or content created with a sponsor.
- Advertisement — Paid display advertising served by a third-party network.
If you see a commercial element on PupWiki that is not clearly labelled, please let us know.
What affiliate relationships never influence
- Breed scores, fit scores, or comparison results.
- Tool outputs from the Dog Cost Calculator, Dog Breed Selector Quiz, Dog Food Calculator, or Dog Training Plan Generator.
- Source selection — we do not use affiliate relationships to determine which sources we cite.
- Editorial verdicts — breed summaries and guide content are written independently of commercial partners.
- Coverage decisions — a breed or topic is covered because it is useful to dog owners, not because of a commercial relationship.
